I ran away from my duty; a disgrace in my lineage. I was to be executed, in front of everyone. It was the only way to atone, they said. So, I ran from my home to a place far, far away. A land that many called “Eorzea”.The region I arrived in was not kind. The hot weather lambasted me with searing sunlight and sharp sandstorms for many, many days. I would’ve died in the desert, were it not for a kind soul that found me.He was a traveler and was merely passing by. I gave my gratitude towards him and was about to head off. He insisted I stay, due to the dangers of the wilderness. I kindly declined, as I did not wish to bother him with unnecessary obligations. The man seemed concerned with this decision but he sees that I have made my choice.Surely enough, my clan finally found me. They called me a traitor to my country and proceeded to hunt me down. On the verge of death, I heard a voice call out. A voice searing with rage and nihilism.“It seems the kami would conspire against you. Perhaps… it is time to let loose all that anger, that despair… all that bloodlust out into the world... Don’t you think?”
I closed my eyes. A sharp pain engulfs me and I slip into the abyss. Accepting my death.Or… at least that was what I thought.I found myself holding my katana, my clothes drenched from the blood pouring out of my wounds. The desert sand streaked in red and I looked at the reflection of the bloody katana and saw myself... feeling satisfied.I sheathed the bloody katana into the scabbard. From that day forth, I became known as the "Demon of Koshu".
